The Enterprise Europe Network, launched in February 2008 by the European Commission, offers entrepreneurs especially the SMEs a “one-stop shop” service where they can seek advice and benefit from a wide range of easily accessible support services in business, innovation and research.  The new network is built on the experience of two previous networks—Euro Info Centres (EIC) and Innovation Relay Centres (IRC) which had operated for 20 and 12 years respectively.

The Enterprise Europe Network is made up of some 600 organisations with approximately 4,000 experienced professionals and operations in almost 40 countries, including the 27 EU member states, EU candidate countries, EEA and other third countries.
